Tomoko Fukui - Anime Artist and Professor of Anime Production

In partnership with the Nippon Anime & Film Association (NAFCA), we're thrilled to welcome Ms. Tomoko Fukui, a distinguished anime artist with over 40 years of professional experience and a professor in Anime Production, to the Anime Festival Kassel from 27th to 29th October. Look forward to a live drawing session on Saturday and an animation workshop on Sunday.

Throughout her impressive career, Tomoko Fukui has worked with renowned anime studios such as Tatsunoko Production, Toei Animation, TMS Entertainment, GAINAX and SUNRISE. She has contributed to many beloved anime titles, including "Yu-Gi-Oh!", “Digimon”, “Sailor Moon”, “Detective Conan”, “Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt”, “Gundam UC” and “Fist of the North Star”.

Additionally, she's passionate about training the next generation and teaches Anime Production at the Digital Hollywood University in Tokyo. Her range of duties in anime production spans from key animation and in-between animation to quality control. Find out more about her remarkable achievements during the Live Drawing Panel on Saturday at 16:10 in the Blue Room. And for those keen to dive deeper: she's conducting an Anime Production workshop where five of you will get the chance to create a short animation and experience the process first-hand. Following each event, there will be a signing session.
